Pohutukawa

Our art is simply stunning! We wrote some lovely cameos to go with our pictures. What aspiring authors.

The twisted gnarled branches hold singing birds and dancing butterflies. They make everybody happy with their music flowing to your ears. It’s engine red flowers look stunning on the tree. The flowers are like red hot needles. They are blowing my mind! The memory of them brings you happiness wherever you are.  By Angus
I quickly walk to the velvety red pohutukawa tree. The fiery flowers look like the Apanui School uniform. The tree looks like it’s on fire! The flowers are like needles…hundreds and thousands of tiny needles. It looks as though they have golden glitter sprinkled over them!

I see luscious red flowers reaching up for the stars. The twisted branches twirl like snakes. They reach up to the sky and grip the leaves. The tree never wants to let them go because they are his treasures.

The Pohutukawa flowers look like fire. They are bright red and have soft spikes that are dusted with yellow pollen. The tree branches are tangled like thick rope.

It has twirly branches that reach up to the sky. The velvety flowers look sharp and pointy but when you touch them they are soft. The colour is like ripe cherries with tips of gold. When a gust of wind comes, the green leaves blow silently. In summer the flowers brighten the tree into blood red.
